creativity. passion. knowledge.

Meredith Ferris, Principal Interior Designer and Visual Artist has been creating with intention since early childhood. Her parents noted she picked up a crayon before she walked. Formally trained in fine art and graphic design, Meredith has won several awards for her art and photography and was a member of The National Art Honor Society while in High School. In 1995 Meredith started working as a floral designer and after art school she worked as a graphic designer, managed and designed events and private parties and was routinely asked by family and friends for advice on all things home design and decor. In 2012 she began working for high end luxury bath and kitchen brand Waterworks. While there, she managed millions of dollars in high profile commercial and residential projects in NYC and beyond. Most notably, Noble Row, a project with Foley & Cox and Ralph Lauren Home Collection, which is a luxury 6 unit townhouse development in central Moscow.

In 2013, while still working for Waterworks, she created Hearthstone Hill Interiors and began taking on small one off projects. In 2020, she started working on larger projects and now designs everything from small bathroom remodels to multi-million dollar new builds. The name of the company comes from the street she grew up on, Hearthstone Drive.

Currently, Meredith is working on several projects including a new luxury lake house in Maine, an 11,000 sf home in Redding undergoing a full renovation and renovating The Granite. Meredith, who resides in Redding, Connecticut, is a wife, mother and active community member. In her spare time she spends time with her family and works on expanding her gardens, renovating her own home, cooking and painting.

As a working artist and designer Meredith has a deep commitment to give back to the community that helped her thrive as a young adult. She is on the Creative Artists Advisory Committee for The Granite in Georgetown, Connecticut under the leadership of Visual Artist and Creative Director, Robert Mars. This committee is working to bring the artistic community together, create programing and develop a place for artists to create and share their talents for years to come.

“When I was 9, my parents renovated our kitchen, dining room and living room. It was an addition on the back of our house and it had skylights (I still love them!). My mother, who has amazing taste, involved me in the process and asked for my opinion on everything. I remember going with her to pick out wallpaper, the flooring, cabinets and new furniture. It was amazing to watch everything come together. I remember the giant floor plans splayed out. It was Halloween when the contractor came and started demo. He left us a kitchen sink…. Nothing else! I would watch after school every day, the tradesmen working and cleaning up the job site. It was completed a year later. After that experience, I remember reading every design magazine and book I could find. Not many other 9 year olds could relate, but I was hooked.”
